Le Campagnole Italian Dancers (Country Dancers) under the umbrella of the Guglielmo Marconi Canadian Italian Club in Regina, Saskatchewan have been in existence for over 40 years.
The original group was established in 1970 and was know as “L Ballerini”. In 1975 the name was changed to “Le Contadinelle” and in 1982 became “Le Campagnole”. The group was created to celebrate, nurture, support and sustain our rich Italian heritage in Saskatchewan.
Le Campagnole Dancers currently includes dancers ranging in age for 3 years to 16 and even boasts some third generation dancers. The group over the years has performed at many Italian and cultural festivals throughout Canada, the USA and Italy, and have had the fortune of performing at Disneyland and Disneyworld.
The dancers are dedicated and participate in a demanding practise and performance schedule before and during Mosaic, Regina’s Festival of Cultures. Their enjoyment of the dance is evident in their smiles and their willingness to perform.
